Abstract
303,740. Schirp, A. Jan. 7, 1928, [Convention date]. Dust collectors. -An air &c. filter comprises a series of corrugated plates a hinged to the links of an endless chain travelling o v e r shafts b<1>, b<2> so located that the plane of movement of the plates is transverse to the air stream. The plates a, Fig. 4, are kept spaced apart from each other by punched projections i and are hinged in pairs on pins k so that they slope slightly downwards to cause excess of moistening liquid to drip into the side frames p and to run back into the trough without being caught up in the air stream. The sprockets g are few, so that the groups of plates a spread out well when turning over the top. A number of such chains are located side by side driven by chain or other gearing.
