Transformers. - Screens for interchangeable high-frequency coils of the type having contact pins or sockets to engage contacts on a holder, applicable to transformers, comprise a copper or other metal casing constructed of metallic parts engaging with one another to form, with the exception of the minimum clearance necessary for the insulation of the electric connections, a completely metallically closed casing, and a holder to receive the contacts of a readily detachable coil within the casing. A base b of insulating material may carry metal sockets c receiving contact pins provided on the coil f. The casing may comprise a copper disc a attached to the base b and provided with holes receiving the individual sockets without making metallic contact therewith, and a copper cylinder d in metallic contact with the disc a all around its circumference and easily removed or replaced after the coil f has been interchanged. A bayonet-joint connection e may be provided between the cylinder d and the disc a and the casing may be earthed by means of a terminal g<7> connected to the disc a. Terminals g equal in number to the sockets c are connected to the sockets. When the coil f is a transformer, six sockets may be arranged on the base b, four for connection to the windings, one for an intermediate tapping and one earthed, four of the sockets being in line. When reaction and other relatively movable coils are used, a controlling device passes through the casing.
