Abstract

259,251. Laurent, J. Oct. 3, 1925, [Convention date]. Addition to 242,294. Roofs.-In the roof construction described in the parent Specification the bricks are formed with perforations 12 to accommodate the members 10, on to which they are strung, so that the top part 11 of the brick is solid, the portions 12 being shaped to leave air spaces at the sides of and beneath the members 10. The joints between bricks of adjacent rows are formed by curved projections and correspondingly-shaped grooves, and the lower parts of the bricks are of such dimensions that when asembled, expansion gaps 13 are left between the rows. The upper parts of the bricks are also of reduced size so that substantial parts of the supporting members 10 are exposed. The roof is supported mainly by the side walls or the side framing 15, but the members 10 are additionally supported by hangers 16 depending from overhead beams 5. The members 10 may consist of metal tubes of circular or flattened cross section, and may be used for the circulation of cooling-fluid.
