Abstract
258,611. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. (Assignees of Farbwerke vorm. Meister, Lucius, & Br³ning). Sept. 17, 1925, [Convention date]. Primary disazo dyes containing at the most one sulpho group and at least one amino- or substituted amino-group but not more than one naplithalene nucleus and made by coupling 2 mols. diazo compound with 1 mol. of a mono- or dihydroxy compound of the benzene or naphthalene series capable of coupling twice, are used for dyeing cellulose esters and ethers. In examples, the dyestuffs sulphanilic acid # phenol # pphenylenediamine (made by reducing the dyestuff from 1 mol. phenol, 1 mol. diazobenzenesulphonic acid, and 1 mol. nitrodiazobenzene), and aniline # phenol #m-phenylenediamine are used ; in the dyestuffs the sulphanilic acid may be replaced by naphthionic acid, aminonaphthoic acid, or anthranilic acid, and the phenol by resorcin, a-naphthol, or a dihydroxynaphthalene. Yellow, orange, brown, &c. shades are obtained.
