Abstract

Winding-machines; stop-motions. - In a rollwinding machine or the like, a lever 1, Fig. 1, pivoted at 2 and urged upwardly by a spring 4 co-operates with a segment lever 10 to effect the knock-off. The bearing face 13 of the lever 1 is formed with an incline 17 adapted to register with an incline 12 at the end of the curved edge 11 of the lever 10, the arrangement being such that under the thrust of the spring 4 the carriage 8, 9 is swung on its pivot 7 to lift the package 16 from the driving-roller 18. The segment lever 10 and the carriage 8, 9 are relatively angularly adjustable about their common pivot 7 by means of' a slot 14 and bolt 15, thus permitting packages of different diameters to be wound, while the pressure of the spring 4 may be varied by adjustment of a set-screw 5. The yoke of the carriage is formed with arcuate slots 20, Fig. 3, in which bolts 21 engage whereby the yoke 9 may be inclined relatively to the shank 8 to wind conical packages. An extension 19 of one limb of the yoke 9 serves as a handle.
