[Class 120 (ii).] Means for applying pressure to the top rollers of mechanism for drawing textile rovings of the kind fixed on a bar arranged longitudinally of the machine and which is so constructed that the pressure-rod or the saddle may be raised to relieve the pressure which is restored when the pressure-rod or the saddle is lowered, comprises a frame 4 fixed on a supporting bar 5 running longitudinally of the machine and carrying a lever 12 connected to the weightrod 3 of the rollers and to a spring 10 supported by the frame. A catch or retaining-piece 20 may be carried by the lever 17, as shown in Fig. 4, or by the frame 4 to engage a stop 22 when the weight-rod 3 is raised, the weightrod when it is lowered engaging an edge 25 of the catch and releasing it so that the parts return to operative position. Alternatively, for the same purpose, the parts may be arranged in some such manner, as shown in Fig. 7, wherein the connection 36 of the lever and spring is above the line 37 joining the pivot 35 of the lever and the point of anchorage 7 of the spring during normal working, but is below when the weight-rod is raised.
