257,477. Lyons & Co., Ltd., J., and Mason, W. J. Dec. 28, 1925. Cutting machines; delivering.- A machine for making butter &c. into pats such as that described in Specification 235,462 is provided with a pat-detacher comprising a wire 27 carried in a fork 29 reciprocated over the face of the pusher 6 by the cam 38, lever 34, and sliding link 30. The paper strip 25 on to which the pats are fed is severed at intervals each containing a definite number of pats -in the present case. four, by a cutter 42 reciprocated by the cam 47, and the conveyer is intermi ttently fed so as to make the gap for the cutter greater than that between successive pats elsewhere by pawl and ratchet gear 12, 53 and pinions 16, 17, the pawl 12 being reciprocated by the four-throw cam 24 on which the height of the part 24<d> is increased to give the larger movement required. The shafts 2, 3, and 5 are driven from the power shaft 4 by chain and pinions 51, 52.
