257,129. Parker, Winder, & Achurch, Ltd., and Wood, J. A. Nov. 4, 1925. Stays.-The stay-bar 10 which passes through a swivelling guide member 12 is formed with a narrower part 17 to enable the bar to be lifted above the side members 13 and released from the guide member, the bar being provided with a movable member 18 which normally forms a stop to prevent the bar being moved endwise into a position in which it can be so disengaged. The stay-bar is formed with holes 14 which engage with a pin 15 of the member 12 to secure the casement in an adjusted position, and is provided with laterally extending flanges 11 which normally prevent the bar being lifted through the side members 13. The stop member 18 is pivoted at 20 on the reduced end 16 of the bar and its side portions 19 hang down over the two sides of the bar. The knob 21 is positioned above the projecting portion 22 of the stop to prevent it remaining in a releasing position. The stop may be normally locked in position and be releasable only by the use of a special key when it is required to lift the stay-bar out of the guide.
