Abstract

281,556. Turner, J. June 11, 1927. Couplings, non - automatic. - A shackle pin is secured by interruptedscrew-threads 9, 10 or like projections and grooves, and is locked against rotation when in the closed position by an eccentric spring button 14 springing into a hole 16 in a plate 17. The pin is guided into position by a set-screw projecting into the upper eye of the shackle and engaging in a groove 11 in the pin, a right-angled extension 12 of the groove permitting rotation of the pin. The head of the pin may have a projection 7 for manipulation, or may be flush with the limb of the shackle and have a screw-driver slot.
