Abstract
322,597. Worrall, G. Oct. 25, 1928. Lock-mechanisms; padlocks.-A short toothed' sector 8, operated by the key 17, engages a rack formed on the tail piece of the bolt. The bolt is guided by a stud 6, Fig. 2, and may have a recess in the tail piece to house sliding levers, which co-operate with the stud 6. The teeth 11 engage with a projection 15 on a spring 14 when the slot 13 of the member 8 is opposite the key hole 12. Alternatively the bolt is guided by a separate upstanding piece 2a, Fig. 6, and pivoting levers 4a provided, the tail piece being slotted at 7a to pass the lever pivot 10. The bolt is shot by the key engaging a projection 8a which is so placed on the section 8 that the key cannot be withdrawn until the bolt is shot.
