The end of the casing or outer member of the mechanism is rockably seated in a concave, conical or other suitably shaped recess in a stationary abutment therefor, whilst the end of the cable or inner member is detachably and rockably connected to the lever or equivalent actuating member. The bracket or support a carrying the actuating lever c, is formed with a recess i in which the end, e of the Bowden casing f is rockably seated and which communicates with a slot or opening h in the bracket through which the cable g is passed in assembling the device. The end of the cable provided with a nipple m, when passed through an opening k in the lever, is detachably fitted with a transverse cylindrical member n slotted for the purpose and adapted to be rockably seated in an arcute notch or recess l in the lever to sustain the pull of the cable.
