Control mechanism.-In actuating-means for Bowden or like mechanism for controlling carburettors and other apparatus on motor vehicles &c., a rotatable hand grip b is secured to a sleeve a having an internal helical thread a<1> engaging a corresponding external thread c<1> on a tube or sleeve c secured to the handle-bar d by a grub screw e passing into a flanged plug f closing the end of the handle-bar. The inner end of the sleeve c may be enlarged at c<2> to support and be frictionally gripped by the sleeve a, the fore end of which may be longitudinally slotted as at a<2>. When the hand grip is rotated it is drawn rearwardly, exerting traction on the Bowden cable g through the end nipple g' seated in a cap or closure member i screwed into the end of the sleeve a, the end of the Bowden casing h being seated in a shouldered bore f<3> formed in the plug f. Radial slots cut in the plug f and cap i facilitate assemblage.
