Abstract

Bed-rests; adjustments. -An adjustable sectional mattress comprises a rectangular outer frame 3, adapted to fit a bedstead, and a series of adjustable mattress sections A, B, C, each mounted on the frame 3 so as to turn about a fixed horizontal axis and each being provided with mechanism for its independent adjustment. The back-rest A is shown adjustable about the axis 10 by turning the shaft 14 while the thigh section B and leg section C can be similarly adjusted by turning the shafts 35 and 49. The surface of the mattress sections may be formed of helical springs, while an adjustable table 15, which can be folded into a position at the rear of the rest A, may be provided. The mechanism for adjusting the sections A, B, C may be manually operated or motor driven.
