Abstract
254,549. Heese, E. Aug. 21, 1925. Electrodes; electrolytes.-A manganese-dioxide and zinc cell comprises a positive electrode having a surface of pure zinc, as distinct from commercial zinc, and a depolarizing element enclosed in an osmotic envelope, e.g. animal skins, bladder, intestines and connective tissues of fish, parts of plants possessing microscopically fine pores and waterproof fine porous fabrics. The envelope is fixed by tying with string. The electrolyte comprises zinc ammonium chlorate ar zinc ammonium chloride. The cell may be recharged like an accuulator.
