Abstract

254,244. Ezbelent, G., and Ezbelent, R. Jan. 28, 1926, [Convention date]. Pleating.-The width of the pleats are caused to vary automatically by mounting the knife carrier on a slide block 1 moving in guides 2 and operated by a cam 6 acting on a roller 7 attached to a spring pressed arm 3 which has a sliding pivot thereby automatically varying the stroke of the knife carrier. The arm has sliding on it a. block 9 provided with a trunnion 5 at the end of a spring pressed lever 10, pivoted at 11 and operated intermittently by an eccentric 12 or a cam provided with fixed or removable bosses. The eccentric 12 is moved at the end of each pleat by means of a ratchet wheel 17, pawl carrier 16, link 15 and a crank arm 14 which is driven by an eccentric or by a link and crank connection.
