Abstract

253,393. Gransaull, L. E. Sept. 10. 1925. Earpieces; receivers fitted with horns; telephones, mounting and supporting.-In a telephone attachment of the type in which a sound amplifying means is combined with the mouth of the receiver and a weight corresponding to the receiver is suspended by a cord from the switch hook, an auxiliary bracket or divided clamp is provided to engage the standard 1 at 5 and the receiver 9 at 7. A thumb screw 11 is provided for fixing the clamp, which is provided with strips of felt or the like on the gripping faces. Attached to the clamp is a ring 13 for supporting the weight 4 in an inoperative positiom, the weight being attached by a cord 3 from the ordinary switch hook 2. The sound amplifying means comprises a base 14 attached to the mouth of the receiver by a wire arranged spirally or otherwise, a flexible tube 15 and a trumpet having a soft rubber earpiece 16, the tube being sufficiently long and flexible to bring the earpiece to the operator's ear.
