Abstract

252,547. Wright, E. S. May 29, 1925. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Coat and like hangers. -A hanger comprises an ordinary yoke part a to which are attached rods d carrying spring pressed clips for engaging the ends of the sleeves. As shown, the clips are provided with collars h, i capable of sliding on rods g which are connected to the rods d the ends of which are provided with balls e engaging spring sockets b. A spiral spring p is inserted between the collar h and a collar q which latter is maintained in position by a collar r provided with a projecting wedge surface t. The rod d may be screw threaded at f for adjustment or may be provided with recesses engaged by a projection on the rod g. The clips are provided with curved jaws j, j<1> pressed apart by a spring and closed by a lever m pivoted at n and provided with an operating surface n'. A collar o serves for maintaining the clip in its adjusted position. In operation, the coat or the like is placed on the yoke part a and the rods d, g pushed up the sleeves. The clips are pushed against the action of the spring p to engage the sleeves and the clips closed thereon whereupon the spring is released for stretching.
