Abstract
257,429. Morton, T. Oct. 7, 1925. Necktie retainers.-A clip which is combined with a bow for gripping the front ends of a folded collar comprises a stiff back-plate a, Figs. 1. 2, and a resilient front plate c secured thereto and carrying pivoted gripping levers e at its ends by which the collar may be gripped between the ends of the levers, or rollers on the ends of the lever, and the back plate a, or between an intermediate member f, as in Figs. 1, 2, and the back plate a. Stop means are provided to limit the movements of the levers e. The ends of the levers are provided with holes by which the bow may be secured. Fig. 3 shows a similar alternative construction wherein the collar is engaged between swellings j on the levers e and tooth-like projections k on the back-piece a. A hard, wearresisting strip h is provided under the inner ends of the levers e, and stop means i for the levers are provided integral with the front piece c instead of, as in the first construction, on a separate strip g secured to the front of the piece c.
