Abstract

240,493. Webb, P. T. Sept. 27, 1924, [Convention date]. Pockets, retaining pens &c. in.-The clip comprises an inverted U-shaped member 1 provided with integral wings 2 adapted to grip the pen &c. The member 1 is adapted to fit over the edge of the pocket and is fixed thereto by pressing up a bent lever 6 pivoted to the sides of an opening 8 in the membar 1 to press an apertured spring clip member 3, fixed inside the member 1 by means of tongues 3a, against the pocket. The wings 2 have projecting spring portions 2<a> to grip the pen &c. In a somewhat similar alternative form, the spring clip memher 3 is formed integral with the wing members 2, the U-shaped member 1 being fitted over and attached to the clip 3. Instead of the wings 2 being as shown, they may be provided with depending tongues 11, as in Fig. 4, to grip the pen &c. Spikes 9 may be provided on the clip 3 to increase the grip on the, cloth.
