Abstract
252,335. Thyssen & Co., Akt.-Ges. May 25, 1925, [Convention date]. Coils and conductor; cores; armatures and field magnets, cooling; armatures and field magnets, dampers on cores of. - The rotor coils 1 of a dynamo-electric machine are supported by holders 2 and wedges 11 so as to leave uninterrupted cooling channels 3 on each side, and means are provided at the inner and outer radial parts of the coils to prevent circumferential displacement. In the construction shown in Fig. 4, the top and bottom parts of the coil are embedded in shallow depressions 6, 6<a> in the rotor core R and key 11 respectively. In a modification, Fig. 5, V-shaped bars 7, 7<a> are provided, these bars being secured to the rotor core and to the key by a pin-and-slot connection, or bv lateral projections extending to the sides of the coil-holders 2. These bars mav also serve as damping windings. Insulated bolts 13 passing centrally through the coil may be provided to give greater strength, and alternate single winding layers of the coil may be fitted with insulating rings 14, Fig. 8, surrounding the bolt.
