Road-traffic signals on vehicles. - A direction indicator comprises a translucent screen a provided with a reflective coating whereby it con. stitutes a mirror, a source of light c behind the screen, and a sign f between the light c and the screen, the reflective coating being so thin that the light can pass through it, the sign becoming visible on the screen, but when the source of light is cut off, the screen, which faces rearwardly, acts as a driving mirror. In the preferred form a second front screen e not having a reflective coating is provided, a sign g being illuminated by a source of light d. An opaque parrtition h separates the lights c, d. In a modification, the signs are not mounted in close proximity to the screen but are mounted on the glass bulbs of the light source which are located in the opaque partition between the screens.
