Lateral-splash guards for vehicle wheels comprise a frame encircling or partly encircling the wheel and having dependent splash guard plates at each side of the wheel. Fig. 19 shows an arrangement adapted for the front wheels comprising a frame a<1>, a<2> encircling the wheel and provided with a double clamp d<3>, d<4> whereby it is clamped to the steering arm. Plates c<2> are carried by the frame a<1>, a<2> by means of oblique; or inclined rods b1<a> b1<b> having springs c<3> thereon. In the case of a rear wheel, the frame a<1>, e<1>, Fig. 20, is adapted to be clamped to the axle and is also provided with dependent splash, plates c<2>.
