Mud-guards carried by wheels.-A mudguard to intercept lateral splashes, which rotates with the vehicle wheel, comprises a flexible ring guard e with spring supports f between the ring and its rigid supporting ring a secured to the wheel rim c by set-screws b, so that the flexible ring assumes the flattened form in contact with the road, as shown at h. The flexible ring may be a continuous rubber ring, or a strip with its ends connected together, or a closely-wound spiral spring. The springs f, which may be plate springs or spiral springs. are housed in a channel-section member d into which the flexible ring e is sprung.
