Abstract

251,151. Piquart, J. Aug. 6, 1925. Magnetic instruments; loud-speakers.-A loudspeaker for wireless receiving apparatus comprises a magnet structure held down against the action of helical springs upon a seat or pad of sponge rubber or other shock-absorbing material by means of a nut, the manipulation of which effects the adjustment of the magnet towards and from the diaphragm; the magnet structure comprises a horse-shoe magnet and an additional magnetic mass, spaced and insulated therefrom. The magnet 1 is carried on a plate 3 provided with pins 4 which pass through the base 6 of the instrument, and are surrounded by springs 8 bearing against the base. The pad 9 of sponge rubber &c., lies between the plate 3 and the base, and is provided with holes to take the pins 4 and springs 8. The pole pieces 2 are carried by screwed pins 11 on the horse-shoe magnet, and, clamped to the pins 11 by plates 14 are soft iron rods 13, bent to horse-shoe shape. The horn is screwed into a boss 27 on the casing.
