Oxygen, hydrogen, and nitrous oxide, obtaining; combined electrolysis and radiation treatment.- Water which has been treated by radiation from a quartz electric discharge tube is electrolyzed with insoluble electrodes. Air which has been subjected to a like radiation treatment may be passed over or through the water during electrolysis; in this case the products are hydrogen and nitrous oxide. The products may be utilized in an internal-combustion engine.
