Hydrogen ; nitrogen.-Hydrogen and nitrogen, after preliminary purification, are treated with an alkali hydride, such as sodium hydride, whereby the purification is rendered complete. Preferably, the treatment is carried out at about 200‹ C. and under pressure. The alkali hydride may be distributed on other inorganic substances, particularly metals.
