Abstract

Ratchet wrenches.-A ratchet wrench comprises a head 4 in which is pivoted a handle 10 provided with a cam-end adapted to coact with a work-holding ring 8 loosely mounted in the head. The cam is formed as an arc having its centre in the handle-axis on the side of the handle-pivot 11 remote from the work-holding axis. The work-holder may be retained in the head by a pin 14 engaging an annular groove in the holder, or by an inwardly deformed lug 15 in the head. Retaining wrenches in engagement.-The wrench may be retained in frictional engagement with the work to resist relative axial displacement, by a spring-pressed ball 18 in the work-holding ring.
