Abstract

249,725. Owen, C. J. July 24, 1925. Ventilating.- Relates to ventilators for helmets and other head coverings of the kind comprising a dome top c with notches c<2> in its periphery and a depending stem or screw c<1> which receives a collet e formed with air apertures e', and consists in the provision of an attachment between the dome top and collet for preventing the passage of the sun's rays into the interior of the helmet while not interrupting the air circulation. The attachment may be of fibre board, bone, or metal, and comprises a flange a<1> for engaging the outside of the helmet and an upstanding portion a connected by spokes to a hub b engaging the screw c' between the dome top and collet.
