Ventilating.-A vertically corrugated strip of rubber c is placed between the sweatband b and the front part of a silk, straw, or felt hat or cap a for ventilation and to retain the hat firmly on the head. The strip, which is secured either to the band or the hat, has open-ended channels separated by ribs flattened on the surfaces c<1> which rest against the hat.
