Helmets; ventilating.-A sweat-band mounting for helmets, allowing ventilation and adjustment for different sizes of head, comprises a strip c of elastic metal provided with slots d engaging fasteners b carried by the crown. One end of the strip has spaced vertical slots e, through one of which an eye m on the other end of the strip is passed, a snap ring h maintaining the eye in adjusted position. A second elastic strip is spaced from the strip c by a corrugated strip, the corrugations providing vertical air passages for ventilation. The whole assembly, including the sweat band or lining i, is secured together by stitches l.
