Clocks combined with advertising devices; dials; means for illuminating.-A clock casing r, has hinged to the front a frame b carrying a translucent panel a which is lighted by lamps d and e, inside and outside the casing respectively. The movement f is fixed to the panel a preferably in the manner described in Specification 249,338. This panel consists of a sheet of opal glass g, Fig. 4, having attached to the front a transparent film h having the dial and numeral mark. ings thereon in red, and at the back a black cpaque film k having advertising matter thereon in red. The hands m are translucent and red, and the lamps e and d may be switched on alternately by any suitable means. By daylight or the lamp e the clock face alone is visible, but when lighted by the lamp d only, the advertising matter alone may be seen. In a modification, a " flashed " opal panel is used, the dial and numeral markings being etched in the front opal surface and the back glazed surface being blackened except where the advertising matter is marked.
