Abstract

Actuated or applied by speed regulators; actuated by springs; blocks acting on drums.-In a clockwork apparatus having a centrifugal governor for talking machines, a single operating element is adapted to control a speed-regulating abutment device and also the means for stopping and releasing the clockwork without affecting the adjustment of the abutment device. The adjusting screw is connected by a sliding joint with a rod which may rotate the screw or, by lengthwise movement, operate, a brake &c. The regulating screw 4 adjusts the position of a lever 2 carrying a friction piece 11 adapted to coact with the governor disc 1. The rod 3 is apertured loosely to receive the screw 4 which it is adapted to turn by a pin 5. On lengthwise movement of the rod 3, the tapered end thereof raises a strip 7 carrying a friction piece 8, Fig. 2, normally braking the disc 1. The rod 3 may carry a flange directly contacting the disc and coacting with an elastic lever contacting the disc.
