Abstract
248,602. Hall, C. A. May 26, 1925. Lead oxides.-In the production of oxidized lead powder by treating lead in a rotary drum with air, cooling liquid is applied to the drum to prevent the temperature rising too high. Lead balls are fed from a hopper 4 to a drum 1 into ' which air is blown by a fan 2, the air-stream being regulated by a damper 14. Water is discharged from a pipe 5 upon the outside of the drum, which is furnished with a thermometer 13. The product is carried by the air-stream into a chamber 6 having a screen 15. The fine material passes through the screen 15 and is discharged by a door 7 while the coarser material is discharged by a door 8. The air leaves the chamber 6 by a pipe 9 and passes through a trap 10 in which some of the product settles, and thence to a fabric filter 11.
