Butter.-A dairy machine comprises a centrifugal separator, a churn, and preferably a butter kneader driven by an electric motor, the parts being mounted upon a common base. The churn and kneader can be disconnected from the driving shaft, and when they are driven the separator acts as the equivalent of a flywheel. The motor e is mounted in a casing d supported by a pedestal a. Above the churn c is a kneading plate b, and the separator m is arranged beneath the motor casing. The motor shaft f gears with a worm wheel g on the shaft h which drives a beater 4 and rotates the table b. A toothed. wheel i on the motor shaft meshes with a pinion k and drives the separator. A bowl o supplies milk to the separator through a pipe p. A kneading roller 2 is driven by a wheel which meshes with a toothed rim of the plate b. The shaft h carries pinions q, s which drive thei table and beater respectively. The shaft is movable by a screw j engaging a thread 3 in the motor housing to put the beater and churn in and out of gear with the motor, as required. The separator may be arranged above the motor.
