Abstract

722,294. Motor-driving arrangements. WINSTED HARDWARE MANUFACTURING CO. July 21, 1952 [Feb. 19, 1952], No. 18350/52. Class 35. [Also in Group II] A mixing device comprises an electric motor adapted to drive a mixing element, upper and lower separable shells forming a housing for the motor, and a longitudinally split frame, formed of upper and lower opposed substantially identical brackets, removably secured to the upper shell. In Fig. 5 the motor frame comprises a pair of separable complementary brackets 32, 34, which is secured to the upper shell 12 of a pair of separable shells 12, 14 which comprise the motor housing. The brackets 32, 34, which are secured together by screws, have in corresponding registering positions semi-cylindrical recesses 46, 48, Fig. 8, providing housings for the motor-shaft bearings, semi-cylindrical recesses 42 which receive the brush sleeves, and recessed angular seats 40, for receiving the motor-field lamination tabs, and have at the forward end spaced cylindrical collars 50 for receiving gears 52, Fig. 6, which engage a worm drive on the motor shafts. The gears 52 are mounted on vertical shafts which removably receive beaters at their lower ends. A handle 16 secured to the upper shell 12 is recessed at 78 to receive a thumb-controlled electric operating switch. The beaters comprise a pair of blade assemblies, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), which form the subject of the invention of Specification 722,310, [Group II].
