Channels in thrust bearings.-In gearing for the brake-wheel shafts of elevators wear on the shoulders of the worm-wheel shafts and between the pinion 4 and the drum and neutral gears 1, 2 is taken up by an adjustable thrust bearing. The bearing housing 11, bolted to the gear casing 3, holds a disc 20 and felt washer 21 in position and forms a lubricant reservoir. The bronze thrust disc 18 has curved grooves 25, Fig. 5, for the lubricant.
