Abstract

225,734. Hushen, P. C., (Schneebeli, E.). Feb. 2, 1924. Ball bearings; liquid, excluding; oil, retaining. -At each end of a guide roller 1 for papermaking, textile and like machines is a ball bearing with its outer casing 4 seated conically in the roller. The inner bearing ring 10 is seated on a ring 14 which is secured frictionally to a smooth non-rotatable shaft 12 so that the roller may be secured in any desired position. The ring 14 has a flange 17 to exclude water from the bearing. The outer bearing ring 5 is secured by a screwed ring 7. A felt packing ring 11 carried by a disc 9 held between the ring 7 and a ring 8 prevents lubricant supplied through a passage 18 leaking into the interior of the roller.
