Abstract

236,821. Monnot, J. F. Dec. 23, 1924. Casings; motors, gearing for. - A small motor for operating a wiper for a motorcar wind screen or like purpose is enclosed in a casing in the walls of which are arranged detachable bearings which receive and enclose the ends of the motor spindle; the casing also contains worm gearing by which the motor drives the mechanism to which it is applied. The casing is in two parts, one a of magnetizable material of which the field-magnet cores b form part and one c of non-magnetizable material carrying the brush-holders o and the spindle s of the worm wheel r. The motor spindle e is made with reduced ends f and g turning in hardened steel bearings h, j attached to the casing by flanges and bolts. The lower bearing j is recessed to contain solid lubricant. At the upper end is a felt washer n impregnated with lubricant and held in place by a case-hardened metal ring m and a shoulder l on the spindle e.
