Bolts; bolting. - The spacing of the bolts of a bolted joint is arranged so that the distance, 7, between successive bolts is less than the diameter, 5, of the nuts. The bolts 2 have their heads 3 alternately on either side of the joint, the heads forming a seating for the nuts 4. The sides of the heads 3 may be recessed to accommodate the bolt-shanks. The bolts may be arranged in one, two or more rows.
