Abstract
247,268. Adams, S. H. Nov. 10, 1924. Air compressing devices, applications of; direct air pressure apparatus, automatic systems. -In apparatus of the kind in which air is forced from a container b by water from an automatic f.ushing tank a or other supply into a container i to force water or sewage collecting in the latter up a discharge pipe k, air is admitted to the pipe k either from the container b by a pipe h<2> or by a branch from the connecting pipe h through non-return valves h<3>, m and regulating cocks h<4>, n. The container b is emptied by a syphon c, an air valve c<3> on the pipe c<2> being opened by the float c<4> when the tank a is empty and closed when it is full. In a modification, Fig. 2, the discharge valve q of the container b is controlled by a float 8 in a chamber o in which water is allowed to rise when the air valve a<1> is opened by the float a<2>. The air pipe h is submerged in the container i at w and air for the discharge pipe k is taken from the container i and controlled by a cock h<1>.
