Abstract

247,040. Williams, A. W. April 25, 1925. Addition to 217,002. Cables, arrangement and disposition of parts of; cables with auxiliary conductors. - The cable described in the parent Specification is modified bv the substitution of a second earth core 3 for one of the power cores. Further, the central earth core 4 is slightly offset from the centre of the cable so that this is twisted, or has a "lay" while maintaining a definite location with respect to the remainder of the cable throughout the length thereof. The two earth cores in the cable are separated by a hardened flexible insulative shield 5 preferablv of rubber. The central earth core 4 is intended to take the current in the earth circuit in one direction, and the core 3 and the flexible metal sheathing 8 that in the other direction, the latter conductors being connected at the ends of the cable.
