Abstract

Strap fastenings.-The free end of the strap 7 of a parcel carrier passes over a supporting plate 11 and under the end of a lever member 10 mounted on a housing 9 attached to the casing 2, a pull on the strap causing the lever to move forward to jam the strap between its lower end and the support 11, the lower end of the lever being toothed &c. to facilitate this. To enable the required length of strap to be withdrawn a stirrup 12 is provided; by turning the stirrup outwardly as in Fig. 3, the lever is thrown out of action. For carrying light objects the lever member may consist of a spring tongue or the like, and if a steel wire be employed in place of a strap, the lever member may be magnetized to engage the wire more easily.
