Abstract

246,631. Slack, T. H. Dec. 10, 1924. Materials.-A washer for the. jumper of a domestic or like water tap is formed of two portions, one being of metal, leather, fibre, or other hard or tough material adapted to receive the pressure of the nut securing it to the valve stem, whilst the other is of rubber or rubber composition of a soft or yielding nature, to seat upon the valve seating. Fig. 2 shows a washer with a perforated metal plate 12 embedded in rubber 14. Fig. 6 shows an arrangement comprising a leather disc 20 and a rubber disc 17 having prongs 19 entering apertures in the leather disc, as shown.
