Abstract
246,524. Marchiori, G. T. Jan. 26, 1925, [Convention date]. Brakes, electric. - Permanent magnets 2 or electromgnets are placed transversely to a railway track and coils 3, 4 are arranged on the magnets. The currents induced in the coils as a train passes may be used for any purpose on the track or as a means for recovering the kinetic energy of a retarding train. The rails epposite the magnetic device on the tack are provided with joints of diamagnetic material. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect 91 (3) (a) comprises also the placing of the coils 3, 4 on a part of the vehicle having a good magnetic permeability so as to provide current for use on the vehicle and the use of the induced currents for operating recording apparatus. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
