Abstract

Track apparatus actuating signals on trains. - A number of signals on a train are actuated by means of a single shoe by use of a generator of alternating currents of different frequencies on the locomotive, resonant circuits connected to the ramp being arranged to complete or interrupt the circuits through the signalling devices. The diagram shows two signal repeaters 4, 5 in parallel closed circuits from the generator 3 on the locomotive. One or other of the resonant shunt circuits 10, 11 may be connected to the ramp 7 and shunts current from one of the devices 4, 5. Alternatively the repeaters 4, 5 may be connected between the generator and the shoe 2, or.e of them being energized as the ramp is passed according to the value of the inductance 10, 11, in circuit. The generator may be on the track and energy may be transmitted between train and track by electro-magnetic induction. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises several modified arrangements of apparatus, Fig. 4 (Cancelled), shows three generators 3<1>, 3<11>, 3<111> delivering current of different frequencies to three indicators 4<1> 4<11>, 4<111> which are shunted by resonance plugs 5<1>, 5<11>, 5<111> comprising a capacity and a reactance in series. Alternatively, the indicators may be arranged in parallel and have resonance plugs, comprising capacity and inductance in parallel,. in series with each one. A switch 8 controlled by the track signal is arranged to put in circuit one of the circuits 10<1>, 10<11>, 10<111> each tuned to pass current of only one of the frequencies. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
