Abstract

260,627. International General Electric Co., Inc., (Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitõts Ges.). Oct. 31, 1925, [Convention date]. Track apparatus actuating signals on trains.- Signals on trains are controlled by a relay b in a train carried circuit containing a high-frequency source of current a and an iron-less inductor c but no condenser. A secondary inductor d<1> is placed on the track in an oscillatory circuit, including a capacity e<1> and a switch f<1> which is opened and closed in accordance with traffic conditions. The track device may comprise several independent circuits, including inductors d<1>, d<2>, d<3> tuned to different frequencies and controlled by coupled switches. The switches may shunt the capacity and coil-winding. A large increase of train circuit current takes place on passing a track device, the circuit of which is closed, even though the frequency of the train circuit varies considerably.
