Abstract
316,868. Vereinigte Eisenbahn-Signalwerke Ges. Aug. 4, 1928, [Convention date]. Track apparatus actuating signals on trains. -Relates to train control apparatus as described in Specification 294,870 which utilizes an alternating current circuit with capacity and saturated inductance having two stable working conditions, one with a large and one with a small current, the circuit being tipped from one condition to the other when the train passes a track circuit having inductance and capacity which is closed if the track signal is at danger. The track circuit is tuned or untuned according to the desired normal current condition in the tipping circuit. According to the present invention the circuit is started in the large current condition, independent of varying the generator potential, by providing means for temporarily increasing the voltage in the circuit or for temporarily reducing the circuit capacity or inductance. The circuit is tipped to the small current condition on passing a track circuit tuned therewith. As shown in Fig. 2, the track-impulse receiving element 3 has an additional winding 11 temporarily energized from the generator 1 by closing a switch 12 to give the required additional voltaga in the circuit comprising the saturated inductance. 2, condenser 5, and relay 4 by which the train control is effected.
