Abstract

Moulding conduits in situ.-Relates to apparatus for moulding concrete conduits wherein the concrete is moulded within a mould enclosing a core or cores and the mould is traversed by pressure exerted against the moulded portion. According to the invention, the cores are mounted for a rocking movement to loosen them from the concrete and smooth the passage. The mould 2 has the sides provided with extensions 7 and a front plate 8 to which the outer core members 6 of thin metal are secured, the inner core members of rubber or fibre being supported within the tubes 6, which are intergeared and adapted to be oscillated by a lever 20. The mould is moved and the concrete consolidated by a pressure-plate 9 connected by links 10 to a lever 11 pivoted to a floor plate 12 and the lever 11 may be hand or power operated. For portable structures, the mould may be fixed and the product moved relatively to the mould. A sufficient length of core 5 to support the openings is left within the moulded structure, but the outer core members 6 move with the mould. The oscillation of the cores may be caused simultaneously with the movement of retraction of the mould. At the start, a strutted end plate is provided for corners, the guiding rails 27 are disposed at right-angles, and the ducts 36 are drilled through to the ducts 33 at right-angles.
