Abstract

244,982. Entwisle & Kenyon, Ltd., and Dickinson, T. April 30, 1925. Carpet-sweepers. - A carpetsweeper having the wheel axles carried by springs and projecting through holes in the ends of the sweeper casing is provided with flexible covers for the axle holes, the covers being attached to the axle and to the inside of the casing. As shown, a disc d of canvas, thin sheet rubber or other flexible material is provided with an eyelet d' adapted to fit around the axle c and with a stiffening ring d<2> affixed to the inside of the casing A. The diameter of the disc is greater than that of the ring to allow freedom of movement of the axle within the opening c<1>. The ring d<2> may be dispensed with, the disc being secured by cement or adhesive.
