Carpet-sweepers.- In carpet-sweepers in which the axles c on which the wheels engaging the brush pulley rotate project through holes c' in the ends A of the sweeper casing, in order to prevent the accumulation of dust, &c. in these holes the inner ends are closed by discs D carried by the axles c. The discs are held in position against the inner faces of the casing by means of one, Fig. 3, or two, Fig. 6, annular discs d secured to the casing or by a bifurcated spring d<4>, Fig. 10.
